The relationship between God and His Creation

Everything that is, was created by God. All that is seen and unseen is under His authority and was created by Him. God created the Heavens and the Earth, and all of the creatures in it. He created man, male and female, as His pinacle of creation. We are created in His image - and ever since, we have been trying to create God in our image. The chart below will help explain our place in Creation, Satan's place in Creation and God's sovereignty over all Creation.

God  His People Satan

"He is before all things..." Col 1:17

FINITE but gifted with Eternal life

FINITE - defeated at the Cross

When God's Old Testament servant Job dares to question His sovereign ways, the mighty Creator of the universe responds with some questions of His own:

"Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth?

Tell Me, if you have understanding....

By what way is light diffused,

Or the east wind scattered over the earth? ...

"Who has divided a channel for the overflowing water,

Or a path for the thunderbolt,

To cause it to rain on a land where there is no one...

"Do you know the ordinances of the heavens?

Can you set their dominion over the earth?

Can you lift up your voice to the clouds,

That an abundance of water may cover you?

Can you send out lightnings, that they may go,

And say to you, ‘Here we are!’? ...

"Can you hunt the prey for the lion,

Or satisfy the appetite of the young lions...." [Job 38]

God's challenging questions go on and on... questions that only our all wise King would be able to answer. They served their purpose. God intended to restore all that He allowed Satan to steal from his faithful servant, Job. But first He chose to give Job an important lesson. He would leave no doubt as to who made the universe, ordered the cycles of water and vapor, ruled the winds and cared for the animals.

The eternal omnipotent God who knows all things and declared "the end from the beginning" has no equals. The fallen angel who has so arrogantly opposed his Maker has only limited time left to wield his finite weapons. He knows well -- and we would be wise to remember -- that our God, the source of all wisdom and power, is infinitely greater!

"Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and His ways past finding out! ...

For of Him and through Him and to Him are all things, to Whom be glory forever."  Romans 11:33-36
